Hiking & Snowshoeing
Hiking in the winter months is an ideal time to watch for birds and wildlife. Variable snowpack means that many hiking trails are accessible often throughout winter. At higher elevations, snowshoes are likely to be be necessary. Quiet winter walks on snowy and sunny days are easy to come by.

Eskimo Hill in Lassen National Forest is a nearby sledding hill. This is a popular local attraction in the winter, for good reason! This steep hill is fun ride when slick with snow, but can also become bumpy or icy with variations in weather. If you plan to visit the hill, come prepared for cold weather and good times.
